I’m Going Back To School!

Hello Friends! yes, you read it correctly, I am going back to school! the word is out and I wanted to share this new journey with you guys. When life gives you new opportunities, you gotta step in and take them,

I am a costuming support specialist for Disney. They have a program “Aspire” dedicated for employees part-time or full-time that want to continue their education within their degree or selecting another one within their career. Even though I already have a degree in fashion design, I want to learn more about other skills.

If you are considering going back to school let me just say you are never too old to go back or it’s never too late. I have heard so many stories of people feeling ashamed or not feeling like they are good enough to go back. Why not? we never stop growing, we never stop learning.

Here are some good points on why going back to school is important:

Career Growth

In the industry that I’m in, there is something new every day. Not only I am able to grow at work but apply what I’m learning in school. There are so many opportunities within and outside of my workplace that I can create and go to school will help me to gain more knowledge and insight. Knowledge is power, my friends!

Expanding Your Mind

Learning something expands your mind. The more we can learn, the more we can have conversations with other people, we can relate to others, we meet new worlds and new places we never knew. Growing your mind is important, no matter what you do, take the time to learn something new every day

Self-Confidence

I believe that as women we can have it both. The brains and the looks, for me personally reading a book, learning something new really helps me to feel confident about myself. To feel more secure when I step into a room and can carry a conversation about anything. It gives me strength and self-empowerment.

Leaving a Legacy

I am trying to make a difference in the world. There are a couple of projects that I want to achieve within the upcoming years, and it takes time, sacrifice, effort, and knowledge. I want my children in the future (don’t have any kids currently) to see how their mom created her own opportunities and used her resources well.

Doing it for myself

I don’t mean to sound selfish, but who will do things for you? no one. I am doing something that will benefit me along the way, if I take care of myself, people around me will benefit from me. I will never take any opportunity for granted, and I have a chance to go to school for free so why not do it.

So yes I am going to school for free! I am grateful that I work for one of the best companies in the world, & for this opportunity. It will be challenging balancing it all, but I enjoy learning, and it will pay off. Blogging and creating content will continue to happen, don’t worry ūüôā

Today I encourage you, friends, to take any opportunity that goes your way. We live in a country full of resources, and we can do anything we want. If you are going back or starting a new career please share your process, your story on the comment box. I would love to hear more from you guys. Cheers to a successful week!

P.S: Enjoy a little illustration I made of myself <3

Back to school!

Current Makeup Products I’m Loving

Greetings from my new home! in the last life update, I shared with you guys that I was moving. Let me just say that I love my new place. It’s very cozy and with a lot of work to get done. As I mentioned before one of my commitments was to blog more this month so I am sticking to it.¬† This week I am sharing the current makeup products that I am loving. Also, spring started yesterday and the warm tones and flowers are back in.

What girl doesn’t love makeup? once you enter any store that has beauty products that’s it, your money goes out of the window. Las week before moving I was trying to find some new makeup brushes. I noticed that my face was breaking out more than usual, and I remembered I hadn’t changed my brushes in a while. It’s important to clean them from time to time, due to the brushes collecting so much, that if they are not clean it all goes into your skin and can do damage. So I went on the Ulta app and found some really good brushes and specials, I got a 4 piece kit of brushes for $25.00, and with it a 12 piece gift bag. I also found a $3.00 coupon and I paid only 29.00 dollars!!

Nowadays we all have to be very smart how we invest our money. I had a budget and doing my research on various makeup items helped a lot. Products are getting expensive day by day, but there are ways to find good deals, by any means I’m not suggesting go buy makeup at the dollar store, noooooo but be smart on what you purchase, buy products that are made out of good quality.

I have been using the brushes for a week now and they are really good. I am not a makeup guru, but reading blogs and watching videos has helped. The additional bag of the 12 pcs that came with the order which was totally FREE since it was special, came with a lot of good items that I have been trying and currently giving them my thumbs up.

4 Brushes for a full face & eye look. Very soft, synthetic bristles and a travel case

The free 12 pc gift came with the following:

Full face highlighting stick

Full-size ultimate lashes black mascara

Full-size lip crayon

Travel size eyeshadow and brush highlighter palette

Travel size patent shine liquid lipstick

On the go makeup remover facial towelettes

Matte eye primer mini

Hydrating face primer

Cheek brush hair ties

Makeup sponge mini

Cosmetic bag

I have enjoyed using the mini make up palette, the crayon lipstick, and the brush. The other items I have not use them yet because I like to take my time to use the items little by little and not overwhelm my face.

I like to try new products and learn about beauty. Life gets really busy at times, we start leaving ourselves behind and it shouldn’t be like that. Women and men should always take care of themselves by doing small things like getting a facial, a pedicure, a massage and like, in this case, buying something that would benefit them. I needed these items especially the makeup brushes, I feel great doing my makeup bright early in the morning before going to work and feeling pretty. The small things we do for ourselves can make a great impact on others as well.¬† I hope you guys have a great week, share your thoughts on what you enjoyed the most on this post.

XOXO,

Here are some products I found in case you want to shop ūüôā

Hello March!

January & February was a blur. It felt like they were the longest months. Happy 2019, my dear friends.¬†Sometimes I ask myself is anyone reading my post?¬† is my post helpful? I feel like every content creator, blogger or writer hits that wall of not knowing. Blogging has become a platform for me to share what I know, what I like and to share my creativity. But it’s a platform that has become saturated and kind of competitive. I have been able to make friends, attend fun events, and work with different brands. But I know there is much more to it. March is going to be a busy month, I’m moving to a new place, getting back into my work out routine and committing more to the things that I truly enjoy, like blogging.

The next level

This March I want to go to the next level with my blog. I want to create content that is helpful for you my friends, I want to work with brands and grow my numbers. Why? because I want to make blogging my other steady side hustle. I enjoy and appreciate my job, but I’m trying to do some things on my own that I know it will help me in my future.

The Truth

If you want to become a blogger, let me just say is NOT EASY. Don’t get caught up on the pretty IG feeds, and cool websites. Blogging is a full-time job, most of the time you are on your own. It takes a lot of time and dedication. You have to be very committed and have a strong voice.

This Month

In March I’m making the commitment to really put some work into my blog. I want to share more about my everyday routine, what I use, what I have learned and various things that can give you more insight into who Kreadiv Misfit is. This journey has not been easy, it has taken a lot of me. it was challenged me in many ways, but I enjoy it. I truly enjoy creating content so I won’t stop no matter what. Even if I just get one person that writes on my comments I know that I will get there because blogging is not dead, and it is a great place to help others.

Maybe this will be a way for me to connect¬†more with your friends, to find my way back into content creation and move into that next level. I get caught up on my everyday worries and forget sometimes on the things that I enjoy doing. I encourage you to commit to something this March, share with me on the comments below what are you committing to. It feels good to be back, I promise I won’t go ghost on you guys anymore.

with love,

CHRISTMAS ON A BUDGET

Christmas on a budget is important. The holidays not only bring joy and happiness. They also bring stress and debt. I was having a conversation with my friend, and she was trying to get approval for another credit card to buy Christmas gifts. She feels ashamed of going home and not buying her whole family gifts. The gifts that she was mentioning did not sound any affordable and she was already stressing. Inspired by the conversation that we had, I decided to create this post and I am sharing my tips on how to use your creativity and stay on budget.

Find the right places

Finding the right places to shop is key. As much as I love the mall, it can be expensive. Take a trip to a local boutique in your area. Also, check out stores likes hobby lobby, the dollar store, the $1 section from Target and Amazon. I am sure you can find some great deals to during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so take advantage of that as well. You can make smaller gifts for your friends & co-workers. Last year I remember I invested in some nice gifts for my parents and my brother. To my friends and other family members, I got them some cute gifts that weren’t expensive. Also, look up blogs for DIY gifts:  places like Pinterest & Youtube have some great tutorials.

Get creative with your cards

There are so many cute & fancy cards out there, but let’s keep it real not a lot of people will keep them. Christmas cards can be pricey sometimes, so I encourage you to get some nice paper for cards at your nearest crafts store, Joann’s or Michaels.¬† Usually, they have apps that you can download for free and use their coupons. Get some stickers, some paint and create your cards! not only it will help your creative self to make something, but a personalized card will go along the way and people will appreciate it more.

I know some of you (like me…cough¬†cough) are doing some last minute Christmas shopping. I advise you not to freak out, and be smart about your purchases, the people in your life will appreciate anything you give them. I hope you guys enjoy this post and let me know how you stay on budget or what things do you create during the holidays. Merry Christmas friends <3

with love,

Also, here is a little last minute gift guide in just in case you need some ideas:

A little Life Update!

Hello Friends! I am back. It has been two months since I have written anything. I write an email every day but it doesn’t count. I missed blogging, to be honest with you guys not creating content was rough. Also, I felt like a big failure because I was doing so well then life happened and I had to take a break. So here is my life update, keeping it real and honest.

The Instagram¬†feed shows the cool places, yummy food and perfect outfit one can have. But not everything is like that, there are everyday struggles and we don’t have to share them with the world but sometimes it’s okay. I think I tried to keep my blog as a perfect life IG feed but is not like that. I was comparing myself with a lot of other bloggers and content creators, & that is not okay. So I decided to hold back a little bit and take a break.

During my not blogging break, I have been working a lot. Three months ago I was given the opportunity to start a new adventure with Disney. Who doesn’t love Disney? Well, let me tell you that since the first time in 1994 that¬† I visited the Magic Kingdom, my dream was to work as a performer in the parades. The dream came true and I worked in the past as a performer, after two years I had to go because I was moving and finishing college. After working different jobs, doing gigs and hustling because there is no other word I can use, I received a phone call from the Disney costuming department. I have been applying to that department since I was in College, many years ago and with time and patience, I was able to get in.

Let me tell you guys that the wait was worth it. I have been able to work in different areas of the fashion industry, I was getting discouraged because I couldn’t¬†find anything stable, but God is so good and opened the door I was waiting for. I work in the creative costuming department of Disney, and it’s so much fun. I have learned so much and have met so many creative individuals.

I also have another part-time job with the NBA Orlando Magic, and I continue to do some freelancing on the side. Do you see why I keep saying blogging is hard and takes a lot of time when you work a lot? So trying to balance work, personal time, and relationships is hard.

Another great thing that has happened in my life is that I met someone. I am very particular about sharing my personal life, but since you guys are my friends and support my content then why not give you a full life update. We started dating 8 months ago, and it has been great. We are not perfect, we have disagreements but honestly friends this guy has been a blessing to my life.

My whole life I been focused on my career, work and making it happen. I dated and had a couple of boyfriends but nothing that serious because they were either cheaters, didn’t know what they wanted or “I was too much for them” yeah I know… I always wanted to be in a serious relationship, and being single for a long time was not easy but it paid off. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed life, family and friends. Now that I am with someone who is serious, knows what he wants and is committed I can devote my time to him. He is an honest, respectful, kind, and sweet soul!

So if you are single and have been through really hard times, and you want to give up on love. Let me tell you something, it will arrive when you least expect it. Learn about yourself, about what you want out of life, and don’t lose your hope. God’s timing is perfect!

I am in a really good place right now. Learning how to balance each department of my life. Learning how to care about me, not letting myself be the last because is not healthy and I was doing that. I am more assertive and confident in my decisions. Also, life changes every day and I am enjoying every second as much as I can.

So what is coming up? I want to write and share more with you guys about creativity, fashion of course, my love for entrepreneurship and if you enjoy life updates as well. So stay tuned for more content! Let me know your thoughts, any life updates from you and what are you looking forward to this upcoming new year.

A Day Out with The New Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens

Happy October my dear friends! The weather is starting to change a little bit here in the sunshine state, but it is still sunny and very humid. Even though the weather is changing we all have to protect our skin. Years ago I didn’t really care about protecting my skin from the sun, but now that I am getting older I am seeing the effects of those careless decisions.

One of my latest faves is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens! Today I am sharing a little review on how great this product is, and how is never too late to start caring for your skin.

Perfect for daily use

This past weekend I went on a little adventure to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. Before I applied my¬†make up I grabbed the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen that contains¬†SPF 30 with UVA/UVB protection. It’s water-light and makes your skin feel refreshed. I also used it around my neck, chest, shoulders, and arms. Places I knew that the sun would hit.

Usually, when wearing sunscreen the lotion feels a bit heavy and you have to spread it multiple times so you won’t have any white marks leftover. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion feels smooth, you don’t feel like you are wearing it at all.

Keeps the skin hydrated

When I arrived at Epcot my makeup wasn’t melting and my face felt fresh. Of course, I packed the lotion to apply a couple of times later, but the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion stayed on for a while and I didn’t feel like I had to re-apply multiple times. My face didn’t feel greasy, or dry at all. It kept it hydrated throughout the day. You can re-apply as much as you can, I did a little bit after I walked half of the park and when it randomly rained. Also, it’s oil free!sunscreens that are oil-free are hard to find so this is definitely¬†a huge plus.

Easy to carry around

When I go to any kind of adventure I like to carry a simple bag. Nothing heavy, useful and of course chic. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion sunscreen comes in a great size to carry around. I love how I just dropped it in my bag and it was easy to carry. I don’t like to carry anything that is heavy,¬† so you can definitely¬†carry this in any kind of purse without taking a huge amount of space.

I also tried the¬†Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 50. It’s oil-free and non-comedogenic, which means it won‚Äôt clog pores. That is a huge plus ladies! I hate it when any kinda of sunscreen clogs my pores and makes my¬†face feel heavy.

It’s never too late to take care of your skin. Weather is doing your¬†daily routine or heading into a new adventure ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN! Coming home after eating & drinking around the world at Epcot, and not having sunburn or marks on my face was a total success. So friends I highly recommend that you start taking care of your skin, and look for a product that will fit your lifestyle and most importantly¬†that will benefit you. I am so happy I found¬†the¬†Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens, I don’t longer have to worry about my skin suffering when I go outside.¬†

Getting Ready For The Makeup Show!

Getting Ready For The Makeup Show!

I am currently getting ready for the makeup show in Orlando. What girl doesn’t love make up? Throughout the years I have gotten more and more interested in the artistry of makeup. Growing up my mother taught me the basics. She wasn’t into wearing a lot of makeup, but I grew up as a dancer, so makeup was very important on stage.

I had my moments were my makeup was a mess, OMG if I showed you pictures! Thanks to youtube and other platforms I have been able to learn more about products & techniques. This upcoming weekend I will be attending the Makeup show in Orlando, FL. The Makeup Show is one of the biggest pro make up events in the USA. It brings people from all over the world, Many professionals in the field teach techniques and share great insights from the industry. Definitely check out The MakeUp show to learn more about this awesome event.

Here are some current trends from MakeUp artist James Vincent:

In Your Own Skin

Natural Skin is a must have for the summer months. Look to the Red Carpet, runway or your favorite fashion magazines and you will see models and celebrities wearing makeup that is barely there featuring a soft matte finish. A sheerer coverage complexion with strategic warmth and shine is flattering for any face. Chose a long wear or waterproof option for optimum summer wear. A few of our favorites are Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation and MAKE UP FOR EVER Waterblend. For additional hold and perspiration control, try Alcone or Mehron anti shine and sweat products as a primer. The pros swear by them to keep clients looking cool in the most intense heat.

Bright Eyed Wonder

Bold, beautiful pops of color were the perfect addition to summer and resort runways this season. As all over eyeshadow, a bold swipe of eyeliner or a bit of brightly colored mascara are a few ways to take the trend to your everyday. Try Danessa Myricks ColorFix for a long wear pro favorite that can be used as cream shadow, liner, mascara or lip. Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliners add a touch of bright color with a simple application. Colored Mascara from Kryolan is an excellent pro classic available in his from bright neons to bold jewel tones and take just a minimal amount of makeup skill.

Graphic Designs

Neo Graphic Liner is an easy summer choice. Pair a bold black liner with any lip from barely there to a daring red and it will always work. Traditional cat eyes are a bit blockier this season or try a sexy, smudgy cat eye for an unforgettable modern look. Stila Microtip Stay All Day Eyeliner allows you to create any shape effortlessly. Stillazzi Borderline Intense Gel Eyeliner is quickly becoming a pro favorite that’s easy to apply, featuring a super durable formula that looks fantastic from day to late night.

Glitterati

Glitter is never going away. This summer we are seeing easy glitter looks along the eyelid as liner or shadow. Try Mehron’s new Echo Pressed Glitter Palette for a no mess, easy option that works well on its own or overshadow. Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow have a large variety of beautiful summer shades that apply with one swipe. For a more ethereal glitter experience, look to Danessa Myricks Beauty, Kryolan or MAKE UP FOR EVER for the most magnificent glitter makeup options.

Smoke Screen

The smoky eye never fails to make a return for fall. This season we see an eye that uses texture for impacts as well as color. Combine different formulas for off the runway, editorial looks that work well for every day. MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Pencils are the perfect base for smudgy, sexy lines. Layer on a gel liner like Stillazi or a cream product like Danessa Myricks Colorfix for added drama. Finish with your favorite shimmer shadow like Cozzette metallics in a rich, blue tone and you have an easy and unforgettable smoky eye that is seasonal as well as sensational.

I can’t wait to share more with you guys about The makeup show. I will definitely be creating a post about all the cool insights and the goodies I find on the post. Hope you guys enjoy these trends & if you have any trends that you would like to share please do.

How To Tap Into Your Creativity

How To Tap into Your Creativity

Even if you are not creative, you can tap into your creativity. Yes, you read that right you have creativity inside of you. Some people think that there is no creativity inside of them whatsoever, but it’s wrong. Tapping into your creativity can bring many advantages & positive things in your life. Doing something you enjoy, or learning a new skill doesn’t have to be perfect. All you need is your commitment to go for it. Studies have shown the number of benefits that creativity brings into your life. Take a read into this article ” 5 ways creativity positively affects your life”.

Why live life with the same routine? Life doesn’t have to be like that for you. Maybe you have been wanting to get into photography, drawing, painting, DIY, dancing any creative skill. The time is here, don’t wait any longer. Creativity is always available to you and I want to help you tap into it.

Go to a museum or a gallery

Going outside of your usual places will spark creativity. Do a google search around your area, & find a museum or gallery. There are so many artistic people sharing their work. A lot of the museums or galleries are FREE! so definitely take advantage.

Set aside time

Setting time of your day to create something is important. Let’s be honest sometimes we become too lazy, scheduling your creative time will help you so much. Think of this time as a self-care, or me time. We all need a little time for ourselves away from the madness of our everyday lives.

Look up videos or images for ideas

There are tons of tutorials on YouTube. I love to follow illustrators or people that do DIYs. It really creates a spark in me to get out of my comfort zone as an artist. Pinterest is another great platform to find inspiration.

Sleep

Sleep goes hand in hand with creativity. You will not be able to survive a long day, come home and sit to create anything if you haven’t slept. Getting rest is important for your brain, even if is a little nap of 30 mins, will help you so much.

Visit an art store

Take a random trip to the nearest store by you. Look at all the products they have there. Get yourself some crayons, color pencils, paints or anything that you can think of to make something. I advise you to look up the store and see if they have an app. For example; Joann & Michaels have an app where they have coupons. You can use them and save a lot of money.

I have been a creative person since I was little. But don’t get it twisted I hit walls sometimes where I don’t know what to create. This tips that I have shared with you today, I have also applied them to my creative life. So you are not alone in this journey! I hope you found this post helpful, and feel free to share with me what are you creating, or do to tap into creativity.

Fall Pieces To Incorporate Into Your Closet

Fall Pieces To Incorporate Into Your Closet

I am currently taking a deep breath and saying goodbye to the summer. But when I go outside it feels like summer still. I went to Starbucks and the pumpkin spice lattes are being served, OMG!! So I am definitely saying goodbye to the summer. I am getting my closet ready because fall & winter are my favorite seasons. Today I want to share with you guys about my latest collaboration with Standards & Practices.

As much as I love fashion, I am very particular where I buy my clothes. When I went to fashion school I learned more about fabrics and construction. Since then my life has not been the same. I have watched many documentaries, and have read news in regards to fast fashion. If you don’t know what fast fashion is please please do yourself a favor and do your research. By the Way, post coming soon in regards to this topic.

Working with brands that believe in providing garments made with great quality, and that are not breaking the rules is very important for me. I strongly believe that investing in pieces that are made out of good quality fabrics, and eco-friendly will not only help your budget but the environment.

Standards & Practices it’s a brand that is dedicated to the women who want to stay on trend, on a budget and always fashion forward. Their pieces are very well made, with great fabrics. They are eco-friendly using greener technology and innovative¬†designs.¬†

Celebrating 2 yrs. of Blogging!

Celebrating 2yrs of Blogging!

Happy month of August friends. I cannot believe that this month I am celebrating 2 years of blogging. I remember it all started with my mom telling me a story about a girl, who had gone through a lot in her life and created a career out of her blog. The seed was planted in my head but I didn’t really think anything of it. Later on, I started to see & hear more about blogging, how people were creating careers out of it. Blogging is not the same like years ago, I honestly had no idea what it was until I started doing my research & met up with a friend who shared¬†with me a couple of tips on how to start one.

Why did I start blogging?

What I can recall from my childhood I was always a different girl. I NEVER followed the crowd, never was into the things that other kids in my age were doing. I was always dancing, involved in creative things and had a few friends. Until today I have followed the same mindset and will never stop. After graduating college and realizing that getting a job in the fashion industry was going to be very difficult I felt confused. I was at a very low point in my life, felt lost because I had some many gifts and no one wanted to give me an opportunity. At that same time, I started sketching more and posting my¬†work on Instagram and the buzz began. I didn’t want my blog to look like other bloggers, I wanted it to have significance, something different and I was very scared to jump into it.

After a year of doing research while working a part-time job that conveniently had a computer and it wasn’t that busy, I took the plunge and created my blog. I started blogging to share my knowledge & passion for fashion, life experiences, my artwork, and journey as a creative entrepreneur. Blogging is beyond the writing and images for me, is about the stories I create that connect with you my friends & other readers. Content that can be inspiring and educational with my own twist on it.

Blogging is very challenging

Even though I have been blessed to meet so many people, attend conferences, events and work with different companies blogging is very challenging. I love to plan and be organized about my schedule, but this year for me has been very up and down and finding the time to create the content has been difficult. Blogging is not just sitting down writing and posting, is really thinking about the content that you will write. Making sure it’s accurate, clear, well written, content that will attract readers.¬†

There is so much more that goes into it, people don’t really know what goes on the blogging journey. There are times that I feel guilty for not posting or blogging about what everyone is blogging right now, but I have learned that I am on my own path, running my own race and there is no rush to be something I am not. So I take my time and share what is on my heart, blogging about my journey and doing it my way. Honestly, I know I can be more consistent blogging but I am making it work with the time that I have.

Things I have learned…

Confidence

Writing skills

Networking

SEO ( please please learn more about it if you want to start blogging)

Consistency

Friendships

Balance

Time

The World

Time has really flown by, but I am proud of the platform I have created. Blogging started as a way for me to get my gifts & talents into the world, but it has expanded beyond that. Blogging has helped me so much in my career, and personal life. No matter what happens in the blogging industry I won’t stop doing it. Hopefully, this platform will continue to inspire you, I have huge plans for it so stay tuned. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read my post, and commenting. If you are a blogger or want to start blogging please leave me a comment sharing what you liked about this post, and what you have learned about blogging as well. Have a great week friends!

with love,
