Self Care Essentials

Hello Friends!

Can we talk about how time is flying? I cannot believe that October is here. September was definitely a crazy month, but we made it through. Even though it was a very challenging month, there were many blessings. I got my first two campaigns! also I was able to host a fall fashion event, and sketch live at Vera Bradley (Post coming soon)  I was on a roll and something unexpected happened, something that I was not ready for in any way. Unfortunately my fur baby/best friend and companion Echo died this past Wednesday October 4, 2017. My dog was a huge part of my life, I truly wish I would have posted more about her, but God knows how much I love her and gave her the best life. It has been a very rough couple of days for my family and I, but we are thankful for the time we were able to spend with her, the memories and the great dog that she was to us. If you have fur baby, a dog or any kind of pet; cherish it, love it, spend time and never take it for granted. As you can tell, time is flying and is very important to spend time with the ones that really matter.

For this month as much as I want to work and do so many things, I want to focus on taking care of myself. Taking care of yourself is very important. If you are not resting, eating healthy, exercising, and slowing down from your crazy schedule you can get sick and feel burned out. I have been there where I do way too much, and forget about myself. I want to share with you certain items that I have been using, and will continue to use throughout this month, to make sure that I feel and look healthy. Making sure my mind, soul and body are in a good standing place, so I can continue to work hard and do the things that I love.

For mind & Soul:  A Devotional from a really good friend of mine Carrie Lucarini.  She is a woman who has dedicated her life to God, and shares her heart on this devotional. It has been very helpful to me everyday because it helps me to get a scripture before I start my day. You can get a copy here:  http://www.xulonpress.com/bookstore/bookdetail.php?PB_ISBN=9781545611562

Another great item that has helped me to relax and enjoy “ME” time, is this Caramel Corn handmade soy candle from  Marcish Market. My friends Marc & Trish have started this awesome business, and they create this awesome soy candles. My house smells great, packaging is so cute and on the top of the lid, it has a scripture. They use man made synthetic oils, but their oils are non-toxic. I highly recommend it so check it out when you guys can.

Simple Skincare :  With all the craziness and stress that I have been under, I have been using Simple skincare products. I have used this products for almost a year now. My skin is very sensitive, and I have tried it all pretty much, but this products have been the only ones that have helped me. They don’t use harsh chemicals or artificial perfumes. I truly enjoy using the cleanser and the smoothing facial scrub.

 L’oreal pure face mask: I love love this mask! it’s such a good investment for your skin. It exfoliates, unclogs and tightens pores. It’s very smooth on the skin, and afterwards it feels refreshed and soft. They have three different kinds and the one i’m using currently is the red algae.

Olay regenerist micro-sculping cream face moisturizer: Great moisturizer! I was given one at the blogher 2017 conference that I attended this year. I really like it and it’s very soft on my skin.

La Vie Est Belle Fragrance body lotionBody lotion that smells amazing, and it last throughout the day. I use this after I get out of the shower and leaves my skin very soft.

OPI Fiji Collection: I was sent a small set to try it out from the ELLE Magazine inner circle that I am part of, and the colors are so rich and pretty. Even though they are spring/summer colors, they are great for any occasion during the year.

Skinn Cosmetics Lip 6X Balm: This lip balm I use it before going to bed, and it helps my lips to stay hydrated and moisturized. You can use it throughout the day too before putting on your day to day lipstick or lipgloss.

I hope you guys found this post helpful. I encourage you to take some time, rest, take care of yourself, eat healthy and exercise. Also invest in products that are good for you and will help you to stay in balance. I would like to thank  Marcish Market for my awesome candle, Simply Stylist for my Skinn Cosmetics Lip balm and Elle inner circle for the OPI Fiji collection. I have enjoyed using this products, and I am sharing my honest opinion on them. Thank you all for your love and support, don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss a thing.

Have a great week friends!

Fall Blazers

Hello Friends!

It feels good to be back. I have been trying to get back into the groove of things but unfortunately there was a hurricane a week ago. IRMA hit pretty hard and left the state of FL with some damage and powerless. I didn’t have power for a week, so the struggle was real but I am here sharing with you guys a new post all about my latest fall blazers.

If you were able to attend NYFW or catch the shows live, there were tons of blazers on the runway, as well as the street style looks from people that attended the shows. Even though I couldn’t attend due to the hurricane, I watched most of the shows and kept up with looks from many people that I admire in the industry.

I grew up watching my mom get ready and wear tons of stylish pieces. This plaid jacket that I am wearing is hers from the 90’s. It’s wool, with a medium lapel. and gold buttons.  It’s perfect for fall and winter season, and you can style it with anything. I wore a pair of skinny jeans under, a black top and adidas originals slip on sneakers.

The 2nd jacket I am showcasing is this vintage, light wool, bright pink 80’s blazer. I found it at a dance event that I attended for $5.00. I love the color, love how it’s light weight and wearable.

I wore the same base pieces from the previous images, added a pin that my mother gave me and sand suede mules to bring the outfit together. So there it is…. some of my essential blazers for this season. Don’t feel pressured to get one, I’m sure you have one in your closet and you can style it in many ways. If you don’t have one, trust me a lot of stores have some great ones and I have included links where you can purchase them on the items. I hope you guys found this  post helpful, continue to have a great week and rock your own style.

Hello September!!

Hello Friends!

Greetings from Florida. As you all know we have a massive hurricane on the way by the name of IRMA. It’s suppose to hit us by Sunday, and this week has been a bit weird due to all of this happening. We are trying to prepare as much as we can and trusting God that he will keep our state safe. Besides all that happening, it’s a new month! I can’t believe September is here and there is so much happening.

I am looking forward to…

NYFW

The shows, street looks, trends and all the craziness. This year due to the hurricane I couldn’t make it to NY.  I would have love to attend, but my priority is my family and I wouldn’t be able to be at peace knowing that there is so much going here in FL. As for right now I am keeping up with the shows while watching  http://nyfw.com/  and of course on social media.

FALL WARDROBE

                               The color scheme, boots, heavy denim, and flannel shirts.

  THE CHANGE IN LEAVES

The different tones, sizes and colors of leaves when they fall from the trees. So pretty!

 BALANCE

August was a very busy month, I am very proud of myself because I was consistent with my channel and blog, I did see the growth but I was exhausted.  It is very challenging to work a full time job, working side projects, keep up with social media, create content for YouTube, the blog and having a life. I barely made it to the gym, ate badly and didn’t really have enough sleep. I have noticed that my face has suffered too, so for this month I promise myself to make more time to read my bible, get enough rest, get back into working out, eating healthy and have a balance life. As much as I love being busy and seeing my work grow, it’s not smart to sacrifice my health.

I hope you guys are having a great September so far! Please Subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss any content, and leave me a comment telling me what are you looking forward to this month! Have a great weekend <3

P.S: Check out my recent FALL illustration, a little preview of the process.

DIY: Pins & Patches

Hello Friends!

I hope you guys are having a great month. Making sure you are all working hard but at the same time keeping a balance life and not overworking yourselves. The other day I was on Pinterest looking for some inspiration and I came across these two images. Pins and patches have been trending for a while.

A little history: This trend started around the 70’s & 80’s. Hippies were against the current, less focused on the mainstream and were always trying to make a statement. They let go of the tailored suits, common style and created a flowy style of long dresses, shabby jeans and natural hair. A lot of their pieces were second hand items, which they repaired by adding pins and sewing patches. It wasn’t only a fashion statement for them, it was about their identity, personality and solidarity.

Last weekend I attended an event at the mall, and afterwards I visited ALDO. This brand has a great variety of shoes and accessories. Their items are made of good materials and fabrics. I went to their accessories section and found this pins that you see in the image. They were on sale and had an extra 30% discount as well. It was a great deal and couldn’t pass it, so the total of my purchase for 7 small patches and a pin that originally was $20.00 with the discount and 30% extra discount was…….. $12.00 dollars TOTAL!

In my closet I found this vintage denim jacket, and I started playing around with the pins and patches. I placed them randomly and left some space within each other.

My mother had this two vintage pins and she donated them to the Kathy foundation! they are so precious to me because growing up I used to watch my mom getting ready, always looking so stylish and adding one of these pins as the final touch to her outfit.

Here is the FINAL LOOK! I love how the pins stand out on the jacket. I kept the jewelry to a minimum so the focus was the jacket. The great thing about the pins and patches is that I can remove them and place them on other clothing items or accessories.

So remember; if there is a trend that catches your eye. Find ways to incorporate it in a smart way that won’t break your wallet. Even though I love Gucci and the other luxury brands that have awesome jackets with some cool pins and patches, I have to keep it real and stay within my budget. There are so many sales out there so take advantage of that, but keep in mind that whatever you purchase is of good quality as well.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss a thing. Have a great week friends!

1yr. Anniversary

Happy Anniversary!

Hello Friends! Last Friday I celebrated my 1 year anniversary. 1 year of creating content for my blog, YouTube channel and social media platforms.

I did not expect nothing of it. I was in a season of disappointment, lacking motivation but inside I knew I had it in me to start something. I did a lot or research, prayed a lot, reached out to my friend Laila for guidance and a lot of doubts.

1 year of walking into the unknown.

1 year of doubts & fears.

1 year of a lot of late nights.

1 year of many sacrifices.

1 year of planning content.

1 year of exposing my craft to the world.

1 year of new opportunities.

1 year of new friendships.

1 year of learning about myself.

1 year of getting rid of insecurities.

1 year of creating my own happiness.

1 year where I took the best leap of faith.

I am so happy I took the risk and jumped on this wagon. It has been a wild ride but a fun one where the impossible has been possible.

THANK YOU ALL for your support & love throughout this year. I can’t believe how fast it went, but glad I invested and worked hard to see my creative platforms grow and see how it has impacted you guys.

I hope you  are motivated & inspired to take a leap of faith, a risk or go after that dream that has been in your heart. It is worth it just know it takes a lot of work and a lot of patience.

Style Collective Party

Hello Friends!

Community is very important. We all want to belong and be part of something. We live in a very high tech world and at the reach of our hands we get information of what’s going on and what are people up to nowadays. We forget to call or have face to face conversations with people, and let’s keep it real sometimes we feel alone.

Whatever dream or passion you are chasing, you need a community. It gets lonely working and going after things you are passionate about. It has happened to me a lot and specially when I started this journey. I remember when I started it was challenging for me to explain to people what my new venture was. Some go it and some didn’t seem to care.

I am so thankful that this new year I have been able to attend more blogging & content creator events where I have met goal driven, passionate and like minded individuals who are on their constant hustle.

About two weekends ago I had the pleasure to attend the Style Collective https://stylecollective.us/  Pool party that was hosted by my awesome friend Nikki the fashionable accountant.

Photos by: http://raebreda.wixsite.com/lilraeofsun

I have heard great things about Style Collective. I did my research and decided to attend this party and hear more about it. My close blogging besties have spoken so highly of this community and how much it has helped them that it sparked something within me.  Most of the details were taken care of by Nikki. She did a great job, other members brought some food and there were a couple of brands. Nikki also had a snapchat filter made for the party!

Local vendors like Lola Trixx which has great hand made customized jewelry pieces were there providing their services to fix pieces that needed some help.

Photo by: http://raebreda.wixsite.com/lilraeofsun

I got to speak to the founder of Batey Girls. An organization that focuses on helping women, and young girls who have been victimized by domestic violence and sex trafficking in the Dominican Republic. These women and girls have a heart for creativity and they design each jewelry piece with a story behind. I was amazed hearing how the organization started and looking at each piece made me grateful for my life and what I have. The pieces are so beautiful and they have such a meaning. If you can please visit their page.

Other brands were present giving some out some goodies and providing their products.

There were giveaways and we also played the white elephant game. I got to take home a cute pair of glasses and small soft pink snake print bag.

These beauties & I got to win some cute bags from JUSTFAB ‘s giveaway hosted by the lovely Laila which you  already know it was the one who encouraged me into blogging.

        I am a JUSTFAB member and if you would like to sign up using this link www.justfab.com/invite/120782948 do it! you can sign up and get some great discounts.

  It was so hot on this day, but it was such a fun party. This summer has been very busy for me but I really wanna make the time and do fun things. It felt good to be reunited with my blogging babes and meetings new ones. So whichever dream you are trying to achieve and if you feel lonely, let me tell you that you are not. There is a community, there is help, there is people you can count on. Go out there and find it.

DIY Tassel Earrings!

Hello Friends!

  So lately I have been obsessing over the whole tassel trend. I love how many brands are creating different looks and accessories with it. It has been a strong trend for a couple of months.

 I decided to look online for some earrings. Let me tell you that I found some pretty expensive ones. To keep it completely honest with you guys, I have been trying to be smart about my finances and paying $36.00 for a pair of earrings did not seemed like a smart move. So I decided to get creative and DIY my own tassel earrings. I had help from my dear friend Yoda. We were able to hang out and make this cute earrings. I created this small tutorial and I hope you guys enjoy it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took a trip to my favorite store JO-ANN  . This store is always organize and people are very helpful. They also have an app where you can download with all the information and COUPONS!! so here we go….
What you will need:
 DMC Satin Embroidery Floss,
Blue Moon Ear Wire
Blue Moon Findings Bead cap
Glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors
    **All the items I purchased were under $10.00 and I used a coupon so it really helped** Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored.
  1. Wrap tassel floss around your hand and cut it in half. You can decide which ever length you would like.
  2. Fold one of the pieces in half by creating a little top bun, and use a piece of the tassel floss or thread like I did and wrap it around making sure all the tassels are kept together.
  3. Once you have created the top bun, insert the hook inside the bead cap.
  4.  Then grab the glue gun, place some glue inside the bead cap and attach it to the top bun of the tassel. Hold it for 6 sec. so that the glue will hold quicker.
  5. and…BAM!! you have created some cool tassel earrings.!! GOOD JOB <3
Here is the Final Product! You can create as many as you can and make them longer or shorter. Here is a pic of my friend Yoda wearing the earrings she made, and her cute son trying to pull them haha!
and of course I had to take a quick picture and show you mines!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Remember you can create anything, use what you have and have fun while doing it.  I had a great time creating this earrings with my friend and shooting this DIY. Stay tune for more. Have a great week friends.
Hello June!
Hey Friends!
I can’t believe that June is here. June is a very special month for me because it’s my birthday month. A lot of people look at getting older as a bad thing but I don’t at all. I have accomplished a lot of great things in my life and there is so much more to do, so it’s exciting to see what doors God will open.
Every summer since I was little there was a celebration. My brothers birthday is in June too, and many times we have celebrated our birthdays together. This year he got an internship with a great company and we won’t be together but I am so happy for him and proud that he is chasing his dreams as well.
June brings summer and it brings change.  It ‘s a new month to set goals, and to enjoy life as well. I am learning to do that more because I get on this mindset of work work work like Rihanna would say and I don’t take the time to enjoy life like I should.
So I created this mood board for this month. I was so inspired by the colors, items, and textures. So dreamy!
IMG_0642
So what’s in for June?
  • I am creating a new website for my blog. Time to invest a little more and make it more professional so stay tune.!
  •   For the first time attending BLOGHER 2017! it’s a huge conference and I am attending as a blogger/influencer  VIP thanks to my blogging mentor Laila. (check out her awesome blog too)
  •   Creating and creating more helpful content for you my friends.
  •   Personal: I want to get closer to God so I will try my best to read my bible more and brake down scriptures for better understanding.
  •   Eating healthy & working out more.
  •   Celebrating life with my family & close friends.
So what are your plans or things you are looking forward on this month?
I hope you guys enjoy this post.  Go out there and gather inspiration, create a mood board, set your goals and continue to go after your dreams. Best wishes for the rest of this June.
Much love,
Simply Miami Pop-Up Event
Hello Friends!
Welcome to my part II of my Miami adventures. So besides visiting the Miami Design District which you probably saw in my last post. I also traveled to Miami for the first Simply Stylist pop-up event with Coppertone. I am also writing this blog in Spanish, find translation at the bottom.
[ Bienvenidos a la segunda parte de mis aventuras en Miami. A parte de visitar el Miami Design District, tuve la oportunidad de atender el primer evento que Simply Stylist que hicieron en Miami con Coppertone. ]
12
I have been a Simply Stylist follower for a while. Before I was a blogger while I was in design school. I attended one of their conferences which are held at the Grove in LA, and it was so helpful. I learned about fashion blogging, networking, styling and tips on social media. They are having a great conference coming up this summer so I highly recommend you go ahead check it out.
[ Yo e sido una seguidora de Simply Stylist por un buen tiempo. Cuando yo estaba estudiando diseño en los Angeles, tuve la oportunidad de atender una de las conferencias y me ayudo mucho porque aprendi mucho antes de empesar mi carrera como blogera. Aprendi mas de estilo de diseño, redes sociales y acerca del negocio de el mundo de las famosas blogs.]
10
The event was held at the Eden Rock Miami Beach Resort. When I arrived the first thing I saw was this beautiful wall created with numerous flowers. Whoever created this wall did a great job. This was THE place to take the pics and showcase the product as well.
[El evento fue en el hotel Eden Rock Miami Beach Resort. El hotel es muy bonito y cerca a la playa. Cuando llegue lo primero que vi fue la pared que ven aqui en la foto, me gusto mucho porque era echa en flores. La persona que creo esta creacion hizo un muy buen trabajo. Esta pared era para tomar las fotos y mostrar el producto.]
11
There were three different stations. The first one was Coppertone which was the major sponsor on this event. There were two aestheticians who took a look at my skin and told me I needed a little bit of more sun. Yeah I don’t get much sun but they shared with me a couple of tips on how to take care of my skin.
Their new clearly sheer whipped sunscreen goes on your skin smoothly and absorbs quickly.  It helps your skin to feel smooth and not heavy,  water resistant, UVA/UVB protection and wont’t clog your pores. It’s so smooth and easy to use. Stella the aesthetician taught me to use it before putting on my foundation and through out the day I applied that way I wouldn’t get sun burn since it was such a hot day.
I highly recommend that you guys use this product. You don’t want to get skin cancer or damage your skin in any type of way, specially since summer is around the corner. For more info check out  www.coppertone.com .
[ Habian tres diferentes secciones. La primera era de Coppertone, que fueron los patrocinadores del evento. El evento era acerca de como protegerse la piel especialmente que el verano ya empiesa. Habian dos estecistas que estudiaron mi piel y me dijeron que tengo que tomar mas sol. Que tengo que usar este producto que es muy bueno, y a buen precio antes de ponerme maquillaje. El nuevo producto no es tan cremoso, resistente al agua, se siente muy suave en la piel y protege bastante. Ese dia Miami estuvo muy caliente y cada rato tuve que estar poniendome crema para no quemarme. Porfavor protejan su piel y si quieren mas informacion de este producto, aqui esta la informacion para que se eduquen mas.  www.coppertone.com .]
There were other stations, the other one was reading of the lipstick. It was a small consultation and they would advice you what colors to wear and how to take care of your lips. The last one was all about nail care. They had great products from this company LVX which are products vegan & cruelty free. Very smooth, creamy and long lasting . Currently wearing their nail polish and it’s so nice.
[ Tenian dos estaciones mas. Una te leian el color de los labios. Y le aconsejaban a uno que color usar y como cuidarse los labios. La ultima estacion era de solo el cuidado de la uñas. Tenian productos de la compañia LVX que se enfocan en proveer productos de buena marca libre de crueldad y vegana. Estoy en estos momentos usando un esmalte de esta compañia y es muy bonito y suave.]
The stations were decorated so pretty. They had intax Mini polaroid cameras so us influencers & bloggers can take photos. There were cupcakes, water, champagne,  popsicles a variety of delicious snacks throughout the event.
[ Las estaciones estaban decoradas muy bonitas. Tenian camaras intax para tomar fotos. Habia agua, champaña, pastelitos, paletas y otros pasabocas.]
I met many influencers and bloggers. Women that have great sense of style and have a heart for this industry. No competition but support only. I felt like I knew these women for a while and can’t wait to colab with them in the future. There were other major bloggers I met that I admire so much, Kelly Sacks and Angela Cruz. It was nice to meet Brandi Cyrus and see Sarah Pollack Boyd who is the founder of Simply Stylist. I had met her in LA back in my first conference. Women who are making a difference in the industry and inspire me so much.
[ Tuve el placer de conocer muchas blogeras y influenciadoras que tienen un gran estilo y corazon para esta industria. Nada de competencia si no solo apoyo. Senti como si conociera estas muchachas por mucho tiempo y no puedo esperar hasta que pueda trabajar con ellas en el futuro. Conoci otras blogeras que admiro mucho como Kelly Sacks y Angela Cruz. Conoci a Brandi Cyrus y volvi a ver a Sarah Pollack Boyd la fundadora de Simply Stylist que la conoci en mi primera conferencia en Los Angeles. Mujeres que admiro mucho en este medio y me inspiran a ser mejor. ]
It was such a great weekend surrounded by so many awesome people, learning about skin protection and inspired to learn and grow more in this industry.  I thank God for my brother who went with me, who took my photos and who is my right hand in all my projects.  Big thanks to Simply Stylist and Coppertone for a great event and all the goodies I got.
Thank you guys for reading this post. I hope you guys enjoyed it, learned a little and be encourage to go out there and follow your dreams and passions.
[ Fue un fin de semana muy chevre. Estar rodeada de tantas personas que admiro, aprendi mucho del cuidado de la piel y como ser mejor en esta industria . Le agradesco a Dios por mi hermano que me acompaño a este evento y siempre me apoya con todos mis proyectos y me toma todas mis fotos. Gracias a Simply Stylist y a Coppertone por la invitacion y los regalos que me dieron.
Gracias por leer mi blog espero que les haya gustado mucho y sigan sus sueños y no se rindan.]
