Quarantine Diaries Part II

Greetings from the continuation of the quarantine. Even though I have been out to the store, it is very weird to not do normal things. Quarantine is a word that I once heard in a movie, but I never thought that I would live it.

In my previous post, things were a bit weird. I honestly don’t know where I stood with this whole quarantine situation. It started productively, then it was a bit overwhelming and I just decided to let go and let God. I remember praying and saying “God I don’t know, but you know so do your thing”. So I started to take it slow, to wake up until my body woke up, to make myself a good breakfast, and to enjoy my coffee. Watching a bit of tv here and there, writing down my plan for the day. I started my design IG page (KreadivMisfitDesigns), just for my design work, I got back into sewing and creating, and I been consistently working out.

Working Out

It has been key to my quarantine life right now. Working out at least 4x a week has helped me so much in all the ways. Even before this pandemic, I was going to the gym every day, but I feel like I have seen more results now. Mentally it has made me stronger, I haven’t had time to think of any negative thoughts, or wondering about what would happen after this.

Beauty Routine Upgrade

One day driving with my husband I came across an article in regards to beauty routines in your 30’s. Yes, I take care of my skin but not good enough and since I been in this whole leveling up season and taking advantage of the free time I started doing my research. I found some good info about beauty routines in your 30’s and basic products you need. It takes me a little longer but knowing that I’m taking better care of my asking makes me feel loved.

Spending some ME time

My husband has been working, so I been spending a lot of time on my own. Some people have asked me if I don’t get bored or feel sad about being alone, but I actually don’t mind. I have an everyday routine where it helps me to stay focus and even though we are home it is good to find your ME time, ME time to think, to process, to reflect, and to plan.

Is anyone out there reading this? comments? what have you been dealing with on this quarantine craziness? let me know!

xoxo

Quarantine Diaries Part I

I should have started this a while ago, I read a post from Leandra M. Cohen founder of Man Repeller. Her blog was my inspiration behind for my blog, she shared something personal about a fight with her spouse and her mom challenges during this quarantine.

We are in a current situation when we don’t know when is this going to end, are things going to be normal? At the beginning of this pandemic, I took it with a great alert but hoped that it would end in two weeks. The first few weeks I was very driven to do all of the things that I have not been able to get done while working and going to school full time. I started taking financial courses to get better on my finances, working out more consistently, working on my illustrations just staying busy. I can’t lie I been having my ups and downs, lots of challenging moments with my husband, and up to this point, a bit stressed.

I feel like everyone is dealing with uncertainty, what’s going to happen? No one has an answer, all we can do is patiently wait ( I been learning about patience a lot) and hoping for the best. Today I was applying to freelance work, trying to make this money someway somehow. Missing work dearly, my co-workers, my desk with my two big display screens, and my plants which are probably dead by now since they haven’t had water.

I am tired of not feeling enough, I am doing the best I can and I know for sure you are too. If tomorrow I lay on my bed all day, I will not feel guilty I will enjoy it and just rest. As a creative it’s so hard, we need to see the world outside. Just because there is this amount of hours of freedom. Sometimes the creative switch does not turn on. So for any creatives out there take your time, do what you can and when inspiration hits let it hit, it’s not a big deal if you don’t just get up a create a masterpiece. Feel free to share anything and let me know how this season is going for you.

With Love,

Ways To Stay Creative At Home

Hello Friends, is this real?  I feel like I’m watching a movie with this whole corona virus crisis. I know you guys might be tired of hearing all the news and IG stories about it but it’s our reality. The majority of the world is at home. Out of the routine, dealing with kids and family members they didn’t have to deal with before. People are having to learn how to stay in (me one of them) and stay away for health reasons.

It’s my 2nd week been home, it has been challenging I cannot lie, but thank God I am a creative and have tons of things to stay busy with. A friend of mine asked me for ideas to be creative at home, she felt lost because she is always working and only comes home to sleep and do it all over again. So it sparked an idea in me to share a few ways to be creative with things that you might have at home or other helpful resources you can find.

Get Some Sun and Fresh Air

let me just be clear about this, when I say Sun and fresh air I don’t mean the beach or a public place. As you know we are in quarantine but there are ways to get some sun and the fresh air without having to be in a public space. As much as I want to sleep in, I have been setting up my alarm around 930ish and going for a quick walk around my neighborhood. A lot of people are not up or out so I take advantage. It helps me so much to get out of my little space, look at the sky, breath fresh air and just take it in. I am not an outside person but this has helped me to boost my creativity.

Colors, Markers, Pens, and Paper

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t have coloring books, or paintbrushes and paint. Make it work with whatever you have at home, EVERYONE HAS A CREATIVE CELL in them, so find those colors, markers, pens, and paper you had placed somewhere. Star writing how you feel, draw something that comes to mind. Tip: go on Pinterest or Google and search “what to draw” tons of ideas will come up.

Coffee or Tea

So once you find that old notebook and color pencils, make yourself some coffee or tea. The aroma, the feeling of just drinking something cozy will spark up your spirit. Take advantage of this time at home, and do something you been putting up for a while. I love the feeling of creating something and drinking my coffee, it makes it so special.

Online Resources

We all have a common friend, and that friend is the Internet. Thank God for it! There are so many online resources. Online classes, you can take to better your skills in anything you want. Here are a few places online you can check out and they are FREE!

Create Your Little Space

If you have a little corner that you don’t use, get a table and create your little space. Use that small table you never use, place one of your plants, place a photo or poster. We don’t know how long is this quarantine going to be so make the best of it, and create your space, make it inspirational!

Staying at home doesn’t have to be boring. Get up, listen to music, make those tick-tock videos, watch workout videos, and create something. You have that creative cell in you so don’t be scared to tap into it. Continue to be safe out there friends, and I hope these tips help you to stay creative at home if there any other activities or ideas feel free to leave a comment.

BRIDAL BEAUTY WITH JUST BLOW IT ORLANDO

Just Blow it Orlando Boutique
Just blow it Orlando Blow-dry bar

Today sharing with you my bridal day with Just Blow it Orlando. I know what you are thinking…so yes I got married! it was a very private, simple, chic and awesome civil wedding. I will be sharing more on why we decided on a civil wedding first but for now, I am sharing my beauty look for my special day.

A couple of years ago I came across the Just blow it boutique through a friend. It was a place that was different, blow-dry bars were starting to become a thing but I never went to a place where I can find comfort. Going to a hair salon can be a bit overwhelming, but this place makes you feel at home.

Girl Bosses Who Rule

Just Blow It is owned by two girl bosses Katie and Erica. Two best friends who decided to go after their dreams, Erica one of the owners took care of me on my special day. They opened up their doors for me very early so I could be done in time, isn’t that amazing customer service? I had a couple of conversations regarding business and life with Erica. I was nervous on this day, but Erica kept me distracted and excited about my day.

Not Your Typical Hair Bar

When you walk in, you don’t walk into a typical blow-dry salon. You walk into an experience. Just Blow It is not your typical hair bar and here is why…

This place is full of inspirational quotes, and items that all of us girls love. They carry their own shirts which you can find at their store and a lot of other hair products.

You can also find clothing items and Jewelry from Downtown Divas boutique a local boutique in Orlando.

All about the glow

This is definitely one of my favorite spots. The makeup bar makes you feel like you are getting ready for a performance, it makes you feel special. When I was getting ready for my wedding, Erica did my makeup which looked amazing, my eyebrows looked so real and for the very first time, I wore fake eyelashes. Just blow it has classes on makeup and skincare if you want to learn more, I know for sure I am going to the next one.

Just Blow It Orlando is a place that is friendly. The staff is very welcoming, kind and they listen to people’s needs. They have a variety of services which you can find on their services tab. One of the coolest things is that they have a BEAUTY BUS!! yes, a beauty bus that travels to locations providing their beauty services for special events.

Here are some shots of the process that day and the final look!

I would like to thank Just Blow It Orlando for such a great experience & for sponsoring me on my special day. For taking the time to open their doors early and making all the magic happen. It’s such a great feeling to walk into a place and feel comfortable and get treated like royalty.

Brunch With Me

Hello Friends!

Guess who is back? yes, this girl right here who took a break from blogging because there was so much going on. I have gotten questions of why did I disappear from the blogging world, but I was feeling like I was trying to look like everyone else. Even though there are so many opinions on how the blogging industry is saturated, and everyone is a blogger or influencer, and that blogs are dying I don’t pay attention to that. Blogs have helped me personally to find out about things I am researching and to express myself.

So what has Kreadiv Misfit been doing these past few months? if I write everything I want to share with you guys, you will be here all day and I don’t want you to do that. It’s Sunday we all want to just relax and get ready for the week. So I am going to keep it very short and sweet.

Career

Working in the creative field is not easy. I have learned so much, of what it takes to be creative in this world, and how harsh is it.  There are so many things that I want to do creatively but I gotta take it slow. Creativity takes work, passion, and action. I love design, so I am learning more beyond designing, not only fashion design but graphics and what can I provide for others using my creativity. I am building my portfolio (more to come), learning about freelancing, and I continue to work with brands. There are days that I feel stuck, especially at my job to be honest which I can’t comment too much about it, so that has been one of my big drives to learn more about design, expand and take action into what I want to do.

Personal

Friends when I say time flies, time really flies. I don’t comment too much on my personal life but 2019 was a harsh year. So many lessons that I learned, and challenges I overcame. I got braces, made me self conscious for a while, then I started to focus on my health and exercising more often. Lost a lot of weight, made sleep and time for me a priority. I started to really practice more about balancing my personal life, school, work, and relationships. God really got through me all of the ups and downs, and on Thanksgiving, I got ENGAGED! So yes I am a bride to be.

Blogging & More Content To Come

You will see me more here, my new portfolio is coming soon so I can’t wait to show you guys. Any ideas or thoughts, please share!

Now I am back to finishing enjoying my brunch on this beautiful Sunday, yes sitting here on a cozy cafe alone and just creating.

MUCH LOVE,

                                                                  KREADIV MISFIT

Hello March!

January & February was a blur. It felt like they were the longest months. Happy 2019, my dear friends. Sometimes I ask myself is anyone reading my post?  is my post helpful? I feel like every content creator, blogger or writer hits that wall of not knowing. Blogging has become a platform for me to share what I know, what I like and to share my creativity. But it’s a platform that has become saturated and kind of competitive. I have been able to make friends, attend fun events, and work with different brands. But I know there is much more to it. March is going to be a busy month, I’m moving to a new place, getting back into my work out routine and committing more to the things that I truly enjoy, like blogging.

The next level

This March I want to go to the next level with my blog. I want to create content that is helpful for you my friends, I want to work with brands and grow my numbers. Why? because I want to make blogging my other steady side hustle. I enjoy and appreciate my job, but I’m trying to do some things on my own that I know it will help me in my future.

The Truth

If you want to become a blogger, let me just say is NOT EASY. Don’t get caught up on the pretty IG feeds, and cool websites. Blogging is a full-time job, most of the time you are on your own. It takes a lot of time and dedication. You have to be very committed and have a strong voice.

This Month

In March I’m making the commitment to really put some work into my blog. I want to share more about my everyday routine, what I use, what I have learned and various things that can give you more insight into who Kreadiv Misfit is. This journey has not been easy, it has taken a lot of me. it was challenged me in many ways, but I enjoy it. I truly enjoy creating content so I won’t stop no matter what. Even if I just get one person that writes on my comments I know that I will get there because blogging is not dead, and it is a great place to help others.

Maybe this will be a way for me to connect more with your friends, to find my way back into content creation and move into that next level. I get caught up on my everyday worries and forget sometimes on the things that I enjoy doing. I encourage you to commit to something this March, share with me on the comments below what are you committing to. It feels good to be back, I promise I won’t go ghost on you guys anymore.

with love,

CHRISTMAS ON A BUDGET

Christmas on a budget is important. The holidays not only bring joy and happiness. They also bring stress and debt. I was having a conversation with my friend, and she was trying to get approval for another credit card to buy Christmas gifts. She feels ashamed of going home and not buying her whole family gifts. The gifts that she was mentioning did not sound any affordable and she was already stressing. Inspired by the conversation that we had, I decided to create this post and I am sharing my tips on how to use your creativity and stay on budget.

Find the right places

Finding the right places to shop is key. As much as I love the mall, it can be expensive. Take a trip to a local boutique in your area. Also, check out stores likes hobby lobby, the dollar store, the $1 section from Target and Amazon. I am sure you can find some great deals to during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so take advantage of that as well. You can make smaller gifts for your friends & co-workers. Last year I remember I invested in some nice gifts for my parents and my brother. To my friends and other family members, I got them some cute gifts that weren’t expensive. Also, look up blogs for DIY gifts:  places like Pinterest & Youtube have some great tutorials.

Get creative with your cards

There are so many cute & fancy cards out there, but let’s keep it real not a lot of people will keep them. Christmas cards can be pricey sometimes, so I encourage you to get some nice paper for cards at your nearest crafts store, Joann’s or Michaels.  Usually, they have apps that you can download for free and use their coupons. Get some stickers, some paint and create your cards! not only it will help your creative self to make something, but a personalized card will go along the way and people will appreciate it more.

I know some of you (like me…cough cough) are doing some last minute Christmas shopping. I advise you not to freak out, and be smart about your purchases, the people in your life will appreciate anything you give them. I hope you guys enjoy this post and let me know how you stay on budget or what things do you create during the holidays. Merry Christmas friends <3

with love,

Also, here is a little last minute gift guide in just in case you need some ideas:

A little Life Update!

Hello Friends! I am back. It has been two months since I have written anything. I write an email every day but it doesn’t count. I missed blogging, to be honest with you guys not creating content was rough. Also, I felt like a big failure because I was doing so well then life happened and I had to take a break. So here is my life update, keeping it real and honest.

The Instagram feed shows the cool places, yummy food and perfect outfit one can have. But not everything is like that, there are everyday struggles and we don’t have to share them with the world but sometimes it’s okay. I think I tried to keep my blog as a perfect life IG feed but is not like that. I was comparing myself with a lot of other bloggers and content creators, & that is not okay. So I decided to hold back a little bit and take a break.

During my not blogging break, I have been working a lot. Three months ago I was given the opportunity to start a new adventure with Disney. Who doesn’t love Disney? Well, let me tell you that since the first time in 1994 that  I visited the Magic Kingdom, my dream was to work as a performer in the parades. The dream came true and I worked in the past as a performer, after two years I had to go because I was moving and finishing college. After working different jobs, doing gigs and hustling because there is no other word I can use, I received a phone call from the Disney costuming department. I have been applying to that department since I was in College, many years ago and with time and patience, I was able to get in.

Let me tell you guys that the wait was worth it. I have been able to work in different areas of the fashion industry, I was getting discouraged because I couldn’t find anything stable, but God is so good and opened the door I was waiting for. I work in the creative costuming department of Disney, and it’s so much fun. I have learned so much and have met so many creative individuals.

I also have another part-time job with the NBA Orlando Magic, and I continue to do some freelancing on the side. Do you see why I keep saying blogging is hard and takes a lot of time when you work a lot? So trying to balance work, personal time, and relationships is hard.

Another great thing that has happened in my life is that I met someone. I am very particular about sharing my personal life, but since you guys are my friends and support my content then why not give you a full life update. We started dating 8 months ago, and it has been great. We are not perfect, we have disagreements but honestly friends this guy has been a blessing to my life.

My whole life I been focused on my career, work and making it happen. I dated and had a couple of boyfriends but nothing that serious because they were either cheaters, didn’t know what they wanted or “I was too much for them” yeah I know… I always wanted to be in a serious relationship, and being single for a long time was not easy but it paid off. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed life, family and friends. Now that I am with someone who is serious, knows what he wants and is committed I can devote my time to him. He is an honest, respectful, kind, and sweet soul!

So if you are single and have been through really hard times, and you want to give up on love. Let me tell you something, it will arrive when you least expect it. Learn about yourself, about what you want out of life, and don’t lose your hope. God’s timing is perfect!

I am in a really good place right now. Learning how to balance each department of my life. Learning how to care about me, not letting myself be the last because is not healthy and I was doing that. I am more assertive and confident in my decisions. Also, life changes every day and I am enjoying every second as much as I can.

So what is coming up? I want to write and share more with you guys about creativity, fashion of course, my love for entrepreneurship and if you enjoy life updates as well. So stay tuned for more content! Let me know your thoughts, any life updates from you and what are you looking forward to this upcoming new year.

A Day Out with The New Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens

Happy October my dear friends! The weather is starting to change a little bit here in the sunshine state, but it is still sunny and very humid. Even though the weather is changing we all have to protect our skin. Years ago I didn’t really care about protecting my skin from the sun, but now that I am getting older I am seeing the effects of those careless decisions.

One of my latest faves is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens! Today I am sharing a little review on how great this product is, and how is never too late to start caring for your skin.

Perfect for daily use

This past weekend I went on a little adventure to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. Before I applied my make up I grabbed the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen that contains SPF 30 with UVA/UVB protection. It’s water-light and makes your skin feel refreshed. I also used it around my neck, chest, shoulders, and arms. Places I knew that the sun would hit.

Usually, when wearing sunscreen the lotion feels a bit heavy and you have to spread it multiple times so you won’t have any white marks leftover. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion feels smooth, you don’t feel like you are wearing it at all.

Keeps the skin hydrated

When I arrived at Epcot my makeup wasn’t melting and my face felt fresh. Of course, I packed the lotion to apply a couple of times later, but the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion stayed on for a while and I didn’t feel like I had to re-apply multiple times. My face didn’t feel greasy, or dry at all. It kept it hydrated throughout the day. You can re-apply as much as you can, I did a little bit after I walked half of the park and when it randomly rained. Also, it’s oil free!sunscreens that are oil-free are hard to find so this is definitely a huge plus.

Easy to carry around

When I go to any kind of adventure I like to carry a simple bag. Nothing heavy, useful and of course chic. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion sunscreen comes in a great size to carry around. I love how I just dropped it in my bag and it was easy to carry. I don’t like to carry anything that is heavy,  so you can definitely carry this in any kind of purse without taking a huge amount of space.

I also tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 50. It’s oil-free and non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores. That is a huge plus ladies! I hate it when any kinda of sunscreen clogs my pores and makes my face feel heavy.

It’s never too late to take care of your skin. Weather is doing your daily routine or heading into a new adventure ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN! Coming home after eating & drinking around the world at Epcot, and not having sunburn or marks on my face was a total success. So friends I highly recommend that you start taking care of your skin, and look for a product that will fit your lifestyle and most importantly that will benefit you. I am so happy I found the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreens, I don’t longer have to worry about my skin suffering when I go outside.

with love,

How To Tap Into Your Creativity

How To Tap into Your Creativity

Even if you are not creative, you can tap into your creativity. Yes, you read that right you have creativity inside of you. Some people think that there is no creativity inside of them whatsoever, but it’s wrong. Tapping into your creativity can bring many advantages & positive things in your life. Doing something you enjoy, or learning a new skill doesn’t have to be perfect. All you need is your commitment to go for it. Studies have shown the number of benefits that creativity brings into your life. Take a read into this article ” 5 ways creativity positively affects your life”.

Why live life with the same routine? Life doesn’t have to be like that for you. Maybe you have been wanting to get into photography, drawing, painting, DIY, dancing any creative skill. The time is here, don’t wait any longer. Creativity is always available to you and I want to help you tap into it.

Go to a museum or a gallery

Going outside of your usual places will spark creativity. Do a google search around your area, & find a museum or gallery. There are so many artistic people sharing their work. A lot of the museums or galleries are FREE! so definitely take advantage.

Set aside time

Setting time of your day to create something is important. Let’s be honest sometimes we become too lazy, scheduling your creative time will help you so much. Think of this time as a self-care, or me time. We all need a little time for ourselves away from the madness of our everyday lives.

Look up videos or images for ideas

There are tons of tutorials on YouTube. I love to follow illustrators or people that do DIYs. It really creates a spark in me to get out of my comfort zone as an artist. Pinterest is another great platform to find inspiration.

Sleep

Sleep goes hand in hand with creativity. You will not be able to survive a long day, come home and sit to create anything if you haven’t slept. Getting rest is important for your brain, even if is a little nap of 30 mins, will help you so much.

Visit an art store

Take a random trip to the nearest store by you. Look at all the products they have there. Get yourself some crayons, color pencils, paints or anything that you can think of to make something. I advise you to look up the store and see if they have an app. For example; Joann & Michaels have an app where they have coupons. You can use them and save a lot of money.

I have been a creative person since I was little. But don’t get it twisted I hit walls sometimes where I don’t know what to create. This tips that I have shared with you today, I have also applied them to my creative life. So you are not alone in this journey! I hope you found this post helpful, and feel free to share with me what are you creating, or do to tap into creativity.
